Public Policy

Develop the skills to influence public policy

Public policy impacts everyone. That’s why private, public, and nonprofit organizations need employees to have the critical thinking skills to research and understand policies. The Public Policy major, part of the B.S.P.A. degree, will give you the tools to help businesses and government agencies analyze and assess existing and proposed laws.

You’ll study management, public finance, leadership, and more. You’ll also take a mix of skills-based and theoretical courses that focus on the policy making process, information technology, performance measurement and program evaluation, and research methods.

Ideal for pre-law students, the degree can also be customized by choosing one of four concentrations:

  • Criminal Justice
  • Environmental
  • Public Health
  • Social Equity

Leave with a tangible skillset

All B.S.P.A. degrees require at least one internship, so that by the time you graduate from O’Neill Indianapolis, you’ll have the experience and connections to boost your career. Thanks to the school’s proximity to nonprofit organizations and government agencies in downtown Indianapolis, you can complete an internship during the semester and graduate on time.
