Generosity in Real Time

How the Clarke Family’s generosity transformed O’Neill—starting day one

In 2017, Brian and Zada Clarke established the Clarke Family Scholarship to support undergraduate students at the O’Neill School. Brian, BSPA’83, served as student body president during his time on campus and has remained a lifelong advocate for IU. Although Zada did not attend IU, her dedication alongside Brian shows she is a Hoosier at heart. Together, they share a deep commitment to developing future leaders and serving their community.

The Clarkes created their scholarship through both a cash pledge and a planned gift, enabling them to witness the immediate impact of their generosity while also building a lasting legacy at the O’Neill School. To date, five students have benefited from the Clarke Family Scholarship.

We are deeply grateful to Brian and Zada for their generosity and the meaningful difference they make in the lives of our students!

"To say that Zada and I are blessed is an understatement. I would be remiss not to recognize the profound impact my O’Neill education and degree had on shaping my early career. We are truly honored and delighted to give back to both IU and O’Neill in this way, and we hope the recipients of this scholarship will one day feel inspired to pay it forward as well."
